2006 Arizona Choreography CompetitionArizona choreographers are invited to participate in the Arizona Choreography Competition 2006. This statewide competition is open to choreographers of college age and older, in all genres of dance.
The Arizona Choreography Competition was created by Patricia Bodell, Director of Dance at Scottsdale Community College, and Lenna DeMarco, Director of Dance at Glendale Community College, and is designed to promote and support quality work of established and emerging Arizona choreographers. Sponsored by the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction Fine Arts Programs, the competition provides the opportunity for students and professionals to work in a supportive and creative atmosphere. Dancers on both campuses are of high caliber, with versatile and technical proficiency, comparable to university dancers. Works submitted should reflect this quality. The competition offers four cash awards, with two winners in each division. Professionals receive $1,000 and student $600. Winning entries will be fully produced and performed in December 2005 by Scottsdale Community College and Glendale Community College dance companies.
